The Greenhorns are a diversified group of musicians from all over Central Kansas. Our style of music can best be described as "Songs We Like to Play". From the likes of Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Steve Earle, and Hank Williams (I, II, and III), Bluegrass standards, and Folk, to Southern Rock, and Blues.
The Greenhorns feature Gregg Eichorn of Elyria, KS on vocals and guitar, Dan Carlson of Falun, KS with hot banjo licks and melodies, and Jerry Jones from Falun, KS keeps it driving on the big "doghouse" upright bass. There's also KD "Smitty" Schmidt and Rollin Schmidt (not brothers) from Goessel, KS providing even more grinnin' and foot stompin' with Rollin's nostalgic dobro echoes, and Kim's oh so sweet-as-country-water fiddle playing. You'll have to keep an eye on these boys though 'cause you never know who will sing the next tune or play what instrument. One thing's for sure - a great time will be had by all! |
